Vibration Assessment and Control

The Control of Vibration Regulations 2005 deal not only with both hand-arm vibration and whole body vibration.

Typical activities resulting in significant vibration exposure include:-

  • Use of vibrating hand tools, including jack hammers, chipping hammers, drills, grinders, sanders, nut runners, riveting hammers, strimmers, chain saws, etc.
  • Holding vibrating work pieces while grinding, linishing, sanding, drop forging and stamping.
  • Use of hand guided equipment, e.g. lawnmowers, floor polishers, impactors.
  • Whole body vibration from driving of construction, mining and quarrying plant, agricultural machinery, etc.

Peak HSE is able to carry out hand arm vibration assessment to meet the requirements of the regulations and will provide advice on controls. We can:-

  • Assess the risk to employees from all sources of vibration
  • Advise on methods of control
  • Provide a fully interpretive report
  • Ensure measurement and reporting satisfies the Regulations
  • Train of Managers, Supervisors and those exposed
  • Assist in the event of HSE intervention

Assessments are carried out by an experienced and qualified Occupational Hygienist and can be tailored to meet your individual requirements.

Peak has assisted companies after intervention activities have been carried out by HSE.
